The holiday season is upon us once again, and it is in this time of the year that we celebrate the little things around us. Here at Illinois Tech, we believe that there is no better way to bring in the season than by organizing a cheer event! The Office of Undergraduate Admissions held a cheer event for the Student Ambassadors, Junior Hawks and members of the staff on Friday, November 9 during the lunch period in Wishnick Hall.

This was a great opportunity for the newest members of the team, i.e. the Junior Hawks to interact with the Student Ambassadors and members of the staff and learn more about them while partaking in some fun and games. Everyone had the chance to bring out their crafty sides and show their artistic abilities as we split into teams to come together and competed to decorate our turkeys the best we can! Lunch and deserts were provided at the event and all around you could see that everyone was getting into the holiday spirit regardless of their cultural or religious backgrounds.

The finished masterpieces (okay, so some of them might’ve looked like they were designed by some over-excited fifth graders but glitter is fun, sue me) were proudly taken back to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in Perlstein Hall where they are currently on display on some of the inside walls. The applications for Junior Hawks open up soon, and we are extremely excited to welcome a new batch of students who will be the face of this program next semester and next year! Stay on the lookout for the applications and be sure to apply and to tell all your friends to do so as well! For more information about the roles and responsibilities of a Junior Hawk, feel free to email me with questions at [email protected], and I will try to respond as quickly as possible. Here’s to a warm and lovely holiday season and break on behalf of all of TechNews! We hope that you have fun, stay safe and bring back lots of new stories and experiences!
